It was brought to our attention over the weekend that our preferred exchange for DigitalNote has been out of contact for some time now. FreeXDN.com has tried contacting Altex via social media channels but has not yet received any response.
We were aware they have a number of coins in “Maintenance” but we were unaware of the scale of how many were offline and had been offline for a long time.
People have messaged us directly via this site as well as twitter regarding they too are experiencing the same lack of communication from Altex. We have a number different of cryptocoins currently locked up on Altex’s website as the ability to withdraw funds is offline for many coins.
Fortunately, most of our DigitalNote holdings are not stored on exchanges. They are safe and accessible via our managed wallets so our payments of free DigialNote should not be affected.
FreeXDN are holding out hope that Altex will resume trading and have been kept away for some unknown reason, but we cannot rely on this happening. This unfortunately leaves only two exchanges online where DigitalNote can be purchased or traded as HitBTC also has had DigitalNote in “Maintenance” for an extended period (and have not yet updated to the current fork).
In response we’ve removed any links to Altex.Exchange from our site until more information is known.
This is an unfortunate but timely reminder that you should always keep your crypto somewhere you can access it. We were caught out with some processing delays so our DigitalNote balance was locked off before we could move it to our wallets.
If trading ability does return to Altex.Exchange we will post a notification as soon as we can. In the meantime we’d welcome an explanation from Altex.Exchange as to what exactly is happening.
